Description
Verde River Greenway encompasses nearly 480 acres and is located off 10th Street in Cottonwood. Access is gained through Dead Horse Ranch State Park and is open 365 days a year. Park elevation is 3,300 feet. Entrance fee is $5 per vehicle with up to 4 people, camping fee (in Dead Horse Ranch SP) is $12 or $19 with hookups.

Good campground with tent only area away from the large RV's with a good view of the area. Close to town and anything you need. Being close to Sedona Red Rock area it is great for local rides.....Sedona area is rather busy with construction going on 11/07 on highway 179 that can create a traffic mess. Sedona is upscale ticky-tacky but Cottonwood is a real town. If you crash your bike Cottonwood has a new large medical facility. Ride up to Jerome is only 10 miles and road continues over the pine forest mountains to Prescott...nice ride. There are lots of other rides in the area on paved roads that get you away from the busy stuff around Sedona. If you like to hike into beautiful desert (Red Rock Area) this is a great base camp for that. This is my first choice for camping in this area.
