this was our second stay at Mountain brook cottages. our first stay was in the early spring of 2007 before i owned a motorcycle. the stay was great, quiet, relaxing and close to what we were in the mountains for......sight seeing waterfalls. i am from south florida so when we found out there was a cuban restraunt in franklin i was there, food was authentic cuban; great flavor and large quantities too. our second stay at Mountain brook cottages was just last week. my girlfriend and i decided to take a weekend for ourselves.....on my new motorcycle. the weather conditions were great for riding. we checked in at about noon and decided to got into town to get some supplies for a quiet romantic evening in the romancer suit....FYI this suit is just that, designed for woowing; indoor hot tub fire place very intamite. on our way into town the unexpected happened......i lost controll of my bike in waterspout curve with the one person that means the world to me in the passenger seat. the flashing yellow warning lights......please head there warning......take it slow. we both survived with abraisions and bruises and when we returned to mountain brook Michele and Gus were absoulty wonerful they assisted us with going to the store to get supplies and attempting in trying to get my bike from the wrecker service to try and get it road worthy. they were so very gracious with there hospitality and truly concerned for shari and my well being, it touched both our hearts. this is a very worth while place to stay while traveling the NC mountains not only for the location but for the confort, peacefulness, and most of all the genuine hospitality that Michele ang Gus showed us in our time of need. michele and gus, shari and myself(dale) truly thank you both and we are looking foward to fully healing and repairing my bike to return to mountain brook to finish our romantic stay. may god bless you both.

Our group of eight has been staying at Mountain Brook for over ten years, with not one complaint.. Simply wonderful folks who truly like Bikers. High up in the mountains in the heart of the finest riding in the country. Cool evenings, just right for a fireplace fire. We travel over 650 miles from Michigan and Arkansas to ride these wonderful roads and stay in this beautiful country. Our group is half sport bikes and half cruisers and the roads support both. If you need recomendations on where to ride, see Maqelle or her Mom.. I give Mountain Brook a "Ten" !!! Buck Farmington Hills, Michigan

Ahhh, to stay at Mountain brook is some thing everyone should do. I have stayed there appox 12 times. All different times of year. The weather is great no matter if it rains and you kick by your fireplace or its sunny and you go for a ride. Heck it could be raining at the cottages and five minites up the road its sunny and hot. I moved to the east coast from California and swore there were no roads worth riding. Until I found Western N.C. Mountain Brook is ground Zero. The McMahon's (owners) are like family. I have taken many different types of people up to Mountain Brook and always to "rave reviews" The cottages are always clean and well stocked to do your own cooking. The best time at M.B might be night, just lie in bed and listen to the creek as it rolls down the mountain. "Try it you'll like it" Dan & Lori

What is there to say? Since my first stay in may of 2000, i have been back several times because of one thing......everybody who rents cabins down there makes claims on we have this, and we have that. And i have sampled a few, but they don't have Michele,Maqelle and Gus. I believe they make all the difference. And in the eight years i have tried to match their kindness, and damn it i'm still trying. It is the center to all the good roads. Good food. Dinner train. What more could you need? Safe parking next to each cottage.Plenty of fire wood handy, no searching the woods. Pretty girl behind the desk. Nature trail and rushing streams. Waterfalls etc.. Get my point? As long as the McMahons own it, and i'm still welcome, i'll be back. R.Sharf Detroit, Mi.
